Dr. Lauren Hollowell
Dr. Lauren Hollowell received both her undergraduate and dental degrees from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During dental school, Dr. Hollowell was a board member of the student volunteer organization, Ennead, and was also involved in the American Association of Women Dentists. She moved to Charlotte to continue her dental training as a general practice resident at Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Hollowell grew up in Cary, N.C. and in her free time she enjoys running and spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Hollowell is currently a member of the North Carolina Dental Society and Charlotte Dental Society.
Dr. Mark Purdy
Dr. Mark Purdy grew up in Indiana and attended Indiana University as an undergraduate. He moved to Charlotte in 1987, and later received his dental degree from the University of North Carolina in 1992. After graduation, Dr. Purdy returned to the Charlotte area where he has been practicing general dentistry for over twenty years, mostly helping underserved dental patients.
Dr. Purdy is married and has three grown daughters. His house is also filled with a menagerie of cats and dogs. In his spare time he enjoys walking, running, biking, and kayaking. He also enjoys watching most sports and auto racing, and pulls for both of his alma maters whenever they play.

Dr. Davis grew up in Roanoke and graduated from Cave Spring High School. He attended Roanoke College where he was a Junior Scholar and graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Davis’ dental education was completed at the Medical College of Virginia with a DDS degree. He then was accepted into and completed the Pediatric Dental residency at the Medical College of Virginia where he was selected as the chief resident and assistant clinical professor of Pediatric Dentistry.
In 1988, Dr. Davis came home to set up practice in Roanoke, VA. Dr. Davis is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Virginia Dental Association ( VDA ),the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry (SSPD), and the Roanoke Valley Dental Society where he is a past president.
Dr. Davis’s advocation is inventing. He is the inventor of the Dr. Brown’s PreVent® Pacifier and also helped in the design of the Dr. Brown’s line of teethers. Dr. Davis is also the inventor of the Rhinoguard, designed and developed to help reduce the problems associated with nasal intubation. Rhinoguard is the first and only nasal endotracheal tube introducer/dilator.
Dr. Davis is new to the Charlotte area and lives with his wife, two daughters and their dogs and cats. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.
Dr. Sheri Schmidt
Dr. Sheri Schmidt studied medical biology from University of New England and in 2013 went on to be a part of the inaugural class at Maine’s first dental school, University of New England College of Dental Medicine, graduating in May of 2017. After spending her entire life in Maine, she recently moved to North Carolina with her husband, Robert. They spend their free time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. She is looking forward to falling in love with the Carolina wilderness, and the warm weather.
